We usually see Twitch’s most-watched games list and Steam’s best-selling games lists dominated by big productions or online multiplayer games. Some special times, some special games show up and surface near those giants, vying for our attention. Valheim managed to write its name at the top of these lists thanks to its small size and many features. So, what does the game developed by Iron Gate AB promise to you?
Valheim received so many positive comments since its release date, February 2. Besides having more than thirty thousand overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam, nearly every streamer spoke highly of the game. As a result of all these compliments, Valheim hosted more than 300K concurrent players and became the best-selling game on Steam. Is that all? Of course not. The game also peaked at 127K concurrent viewers on Twitch.
So what does Valheim offer to players that it has managed to become so popular among all these games? Valheim is a rich survival game which consists of crafting, building, battling and RPG mechanics and was designed with Viking culture inspirations. It’s also only 500 MB. When you consider we live in a world in which a Warzone update requires dozens of gigabytes, this is nearly a miracle.
The main reason for the game’s low size is that its designs are so basic. However, don’t let that stop you, because you really don’t care about the graphics while playing the game. Valheim succeeded in blending RPG and survival features in such a pleasant way that the game captivates you from the beginning, providing so much content which makes it a successful survival game. Having multiplayer co-op mode alongside the singleplayer one makes the game more fun. If you’re looking for a game to spend weeks playing with friends, Valheim is the best for you.
Of course, everything about the game isn’t perfect. Since the game is still in early access, it has some performance issues. Especially low-end PCs might have trouble running the game, but you can try it by purchasing. If you experience any trouble, refunding any games on Steam in 2 hours is possible. Besides, having some server problems sometimes is likely, but I experienced this problem only once in 20 hours.
Valheim is available on PC and can be purchased on Steam only. If you’re looking for a game to spend countless hours on, it will fill your empty hours or even your empty weeks with its rich content. You should buy the game and start preparing to kill bosses and survive now.
