With results of Challengers 3, all teams which will take place in Valorant Champions Tour Stage 1: Masters 1 have been determined. FaZe Clan, 100 Thieves, Luminosity Gaming and Gen.G Esports earned the last spots of Masters 1 and joined Team Envy, Immortals, XSET, Sentinels to finish out the list.
In February, the first four participants of Masters 1 became clear through Challengers 2. Team Envy, Sentinels, Immortals alongside XSET managed to defeat their opponents one by one and qualified for the next step of VCT.
Since there are only eight spots in Masters 1, a lot of prominent teams stayed out of it. Cloud9 Blue, TSM, NRG Esports, T1 and Andbox are among the teams which failed in qualifying to Masters 1.
Just like the main event of Challengers, Masters 1 will contain a double-elimination bracket system in which all games will be played as best-of-threes excluding the grand final that is going to be a best-of-five. Based on their standings in the tournament, teams will earn both prize money and points to earn a ticket in VCT Champions.
There is no doubt that Masters 1 will bring out the high-quality competition of Valorant. It’s hard to predict which team is going to sit on the throne at the end of the tournament, but Sentinels, Team Envy and 100 Thieves are looking one step ahead from the others.
VCT 2021: North America Stage 1 Masters will be played between March 11-21 and start with the Team Envy-Gen.G Esports matchup. According to the earlier statement from Riot Games, all games will be streamed in Masters 1.
