Among Us 2 Cancelled, But Fear Not

Reports have come in that the developers of Among Us, Innersloth, have come to the decision to cancel the creation of Among Us 2 and instead put all the effort and new features that were going to be in the sequel in the original game.

A quote from the developer of the game explains the situation well. “All of the content we had planned for Among Us 2 will instead go into Among Us 1. This is probably the more difficult choice because it means going deep into the core code of the game and reworking several parts of it. We have lots of things planned and we’re excited to bring new content to everyone as you continue to enjoy playing.”

The main reason for doing this it seems is the dramatic spike in the popularity of the game. The game has been downloaded over 41 million times in only September. The creator of the game realized that fans want these updates now and don’t want to wait a long time for a sequel when they could just get the features in the original game.

So, what type of new features could be added? There are apparently going to be new servers added, support for color blind people, a new stage, and maybe most importantly, a friend system. Hopefully soon, you will no longer meet someone really cool on the game but have no way to stay in contact with them when the game ends. So many great friendships could have been created on this game but without a solid friend system on the game, it has been impossible.

The game is free to download for your phone and only five dollars to get on steam. If you haven’t gotten to be a part of this world-wide phenomenon, now is your chance.
