Arcade Games, My Top 5 Favorite to Play

Going to the arcade has always been a very relaxing experience for me; in fact, it’s one of the things I missed most during the pandemic. Now that businesses are slowly reopening, it seems right to list my top games which you have to play when your arcade opens back up.

At number 5 we have the game “Crossy Road.” Not only is this game super fun, it’s also a great way to get a ton of tickets, which is really important to me. The game started on the iphone app store but eventually made its way to its current foothold in the arcade. The objective is simple: you’re a little bird trying to cross the road without getting hit by numerous obstacles. It’s just the right amount of challenge to ensure a fun time no matter how often you play it.

Up next on my list is a classic. Mario Kart actually has a really dope arcade game counterpart that mimics its successes on the console version but also adds some new stuff to make it interesting. What’s great about this game is that you can choose to race your friend on the next machine over. The only downside is that, at most places, it costs at least a full dollar to play. Trust me: it’s worth it.

“Connect 4 Hoops” comes in at number three on my list. This game takes the Connect 4  we all know and love and mixes it with basketball. The goal is to shoot your colored basketball into the slots until you make four in a row. Your opponent has their own set of balls to try and stop you. It is absolutely harder than it looks, as the ball can bounce and fly away from where you were trying to shoot it. No matter who I’m playing this one with, you can catch me getting crazy competitive.

At number two is “Space Invader Frenzy.” This arcade title takes the classic Space Invaders game but makes it so much more extreme. You get to sit in these crazy seats and hold an awesome blaster. The enemies get tougher and tougher until you end up losing. The game draws you in with its promise of a huge learning curve. I noticed after playing a couple times in a row I was getting so much better each time. This one is for sure worth a play.

At number one, we have “Galaxy Collision.” This takes the classic game of air hockey and adds a twist: instead of just one player playing against another, there are four goals for four people to play on. If you’ve ever played air hockey, you know how crazy it can get. This new version makes it even more wild because there’s so much action going on at the same time. Although you can’t win any tickets with this game, it is still so worth a play.

To be honest, you really can’t go wrong with any arcade game. These were just my personal favorites, but as long as you’re walking those dimly-lit neon arcade halls, you’re in the right spot. Have you guys played any of these games before? Let me know in the comments.
