Faze Up, and give it up to your 29-time esports champions! #EZAF
On Fathers Day, the prolific Atlanta FaZe CDL team threw aside the rest of the comp in the 2021 Call of Duty League Stage Four Major to become back-to-back champs.
The squad clutched up to overcome the Dallas Empire 6-4 in comeback fashion on Raid Search and Destroy to close a grueling nine-game series and took home the grind prize of $500,000. It also clinched the No.1 seed in the COD championship later this year.
With the win, ATL proved definitively that it is the undisputed top team in all of the LAN following its impressive campaign throughout the CDL season.
The FaZe boys were led by Cellium, who was named Player of the Stage, and was incredible throughout the entirety of the Major, posting a 1.18 overall K/D.
Then there’s the tiny terror duo of Simp and aBeZy, who combined to go 51 kills over positive throughout the series.
Then there’s Arcity, who claimed that his performance was the “worst cod I’ve played in awhile,” but with a team full of killas, that didn’t quite matter.
Atlanta will enter Stage Five as the odds-on favorite to win its fourth major event in Stage Five. Stage Five of the 2021 Call of Duty League season will begin on Thursday, July 1.
