Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund, a seasoned veteran and legend of the professional Counter Strikescene will be the next CS star to make the move to Riot Games’ VALORANT. The 30-year-old took to Twitter to announce the move on Saturday.
Known for his time on Ninjas in Pyjamas, GeT_RiGhT stepped down from the NiP roster back in September of 2019 after a seven-year tenure that included five consecutive major finals appearances, an ESL Cologne 2014 victory and the famous map win streak that peaked at a whopping 87 maps in a row on LAN.
At 30 years of age and one of the most storied careers in esports behind him, GeT_RiGhT is looking to shake up the VALORANT scene. The Sweden native posted a cryptic video that ended with the reveal of the VALORANT logo.
GeT_RiGhT joins the likes of Oscar “mixwell” Cañellas Colocho, Spencer “Hiko” Martin, Kirill “ANGE1” Karasiow and more as legendary Counter Strike players who made the switch to Riot Games’ VALORANT.
It is currently unknown where GeT_RiGhT will end up, but there are plenty of organizations looking to shake up their rosters. Teams like G2 Esports and FunPlus Phoenix have both recently dropped members and are actively looking for replacements. With the talent and prestige GeT_RiGhT carries, it won’t be hard for him to find a new home.
