November 14 update: Evil Geniuses signs iceiceice

Evil Geniuses had been without an offlaner since their November 6 announcement of dropping RAMZES666 from their Dota 2 roster. In a rather surprising move, the North American organization signed Daryl Koh “iceiceice” Pei Xiang from Singapore, to fill their offlane role.

The 30-year-old left Fnatic mid-September, stating interest in playing for other regions. The move to EG marks his first time playing for the North American region, rejoining his former Fnatic teammate – Abed.

iceiceice’s space-making eccentric playstyle and comedic personality mean good news for his carry teammate Arteezy. Though, with Cr1t- by iceiceice’s side, their shenanigans may be the perfect entertainment and skill combo the team needs, which could spell bad news for cliff king Arteezy, given the Cliffteezy history.

Current EG roster:

Artour “Arteezy” Babaev

Abed Azel L. Yusop

Daryl Koh “iceiceice” Pei Xiang

Andreas Franck “Cr1t-” Nielsen

Tal “Fly” Aizik

November 12 Update: 4 Zoomers kicks monkeys-forever

Jaron “monkeys-forever” Clinton announced on his Twitch stream that he has been kicked from 4 Zoomers. The 4 Zoomers former offlaner later tweeted the news.

During the stream, monkeys-forever mentioned he hasn’t been very motivated for a while, and hadn’t been giving 100% during matches. In consequence, he feels the team’s decision to kick him was correct. Clinton will be taking a break from competitive Dota 2 and plans to invest more time streaming on Twitch until further notice. 4 Zoomers currently hasn’t given any updates on filling up their now-vacant offlane role.

Current 4 Zoomers roster:

Samuel “Sammyboy” Anderson

Nico “Gunnar” Lopez

Jacob “Oceania” Gosen

Jacob “Husky” Fifik

November 11 Update: Solo, No[o]ne- and W_Zayac leave Virtus.pro

Ex-VP players Solo, No[o]ne-, and Zayac have officially left Virtus.pro with a mutual agreement, which arrived on November 10, 2020.

Virtus.pro CEO, Sergey Glamazda, issued a statement on the VP website thanking the trio – the last vestiges of the former, most successful Dota 2 VP roster to date.

“We know that the players want to participate in tournaments right now,” the statement said. “The guys have been bringing us unforgettable emotions and sense of pride for CIS Dota scene for several years. They went down in esports history for sure. We are thankful to the players for their enormous contribution to Virtus.pro.”

As of now, former ex-VP players iLTW and Resolut1on still seem to be under the VP contract, although no new official information is out as of yet.

November 6 Update: EG Drop Ramzes from their Dota 2 roster

Evil Geniuses announced on November 6 via Twitter the removal of Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev from their active roster.

EG acquired Ramzes on September 16, 2019 to be an offlaner. The sudden removal raises a lot of questions which, EG assures, will be answered in the coming weeks.

As of now, Evil Geniuses do not have offlaner for their Dota 2 team. Stay tuned for more updates.

Current EG roster:

Artour “Arteezy” Babaev

Abed Azel L. Yusop

Andreas Franck “Cr1t-” Nielsen

November 5 Update: VP disbands Dota 2 team; Promotes VP.Prodigy to main squad

On November 5, Virtus.pro announced they had disbanded their Dota 2 roster, paving way for their young VP.Prodigy squad as the main Virtus.pro Dota team.

According to Sergey Glamazda, CEO of Virtus.pro, they launched the VP.Prodigy roster to give the younger generation a shot at the professional scene. The VP.Prodigy squad has reached 5 out of 7 tournament finals and won three of them already.

“We had two strong rosters…By the end of September we faced a tough choice: to once again update our first roster or to invest in VP.Prodigy and put our faith in new blood. Today we transfer the VP.Prodigy squad to our first Dota 2 team.”, Sergey added. He thanked the ex-VP players for their historical achievements and contributions to the club.

All ex-VP players (iLTW, No[o]ne, Resolut1on, Zayac, and Solo) are still under contract until further announcement.
