The world of gaming and esports is undoubtedly one of the most influential cultural phenomena in the world today. Its reach spans to every corner of the globe and has inspired millions in the form of every medium of content and pop culture, including art. E.S.G. honors this creative expression as we feature a community of talented artists, illustrators, and creatives who have used their vast imaginations to create stunning esports and gaming related art.
In this edition, we look at the work of 15-year-old 2D graphic designer Sentive.
Header for Kurtz: In this piece I made more of a scenic take of a Fortnite based header. We made it in orange because it lets the character “pop” more and I don’t get the ability to work with orange all that often. – Sentive
Since the Twitter header occupies such a prominent space, practically all gamers, brands, and companies alike prioritize displaying a compelling graphic emblematic of their brands. This one concocted from the marvelous artistry of Sentive stands out with a dynamic background and a rare case of orange as the sole color of choice.
Header for Mongraal: This header was for Mongraal and was for a contest he held for a “Bakuman themed” anime header. I tried a completely new style on this piece and added a variety of shapes and colorful Japanese symbols. This header was what brought me out of my brutally long creative block around a month ago. – Sentive
When anime and gamer swags combined with undeniable creative ability collide you get legendary headers like this one. Here is a wonderful case of a collection of seemingly small details joined together to make a massive impact. Everything from the Japanese symbols, gold FaZe logo, unique shapes, and color schemes work strategically in cohesion with one another to create this crisp design.
Header for 4zr: This header was requested by the large French pro called 4zr, we (my duo omag and I) tried to balance the usage of Blender and Photoshop work done on this, and it turned out almost exactly how I had hoped. – Sentive
Some of the greatest headers feature not only great designs, but great stories as well.
I see an individual who is on a long and arduous journey to be the best—someone who has come far, with true greatness on the horizon. I see French Fortnite pro 4zr.
No matter what you interpret from this design, one thing that’s undeniable is the creative ability to put together a dynamic piece such as this one. And, at the young age of 15, many more stunning designs from Sentive are surely on the horizon.

Header for Frosty: I had this idea for a cherry blossom-themed header for a while now and I think it turned out great based on my approach originally. The concept is really unique and I had a great time making it with Kosta. – Sentive
Cherry blossoms symbolize both birth and death, beauty and violence. They are a central motif in the Japanese worship of nature, but they have also historically signified the short but colorful life of the samurai.
This graphic symbolizes both color and composition, texture and style. It is a principal emblem of artistry in the design sector, but also appropriately signifies the vast and decorated talents of the young designer.
Clix Header: This is definitely my best and favorite piece to date. The lighting and render placement in my eyes just work so well as a composition. I haven’t seen a header like it, and I think it shows my capabilities as a designer.
NRG’s Clix may very well be the most prominent name in Fortnite today. Sentive’s excellent execution produces a polished representation of creativity, skill, and serves as a worthy mark of mastery in his craft. It’s his favorite piece for a reason, after all.
The big homie Clix would be proud.
Last but not least this is my Vans Project which I spent around a week total on. I tried to combine the brand’s natural “edgy” flow into more of a simplistic and clean graphic composition. Had a great time working on this and seeing what I could do.
Welp, time to cop some more Vans…
Vans has been among the leading brands in the shoe game for a while now. They’ve evolved through their edginess and bold innovation, which has transformed their brand from simply skate-wear to more general pop culture. This graphic is so incredibly succinct and well put together that if you didn’t know any better, you’d think it came straight from the company’s creative team.
This graphic does an exceptional job at portraying Vans the brand. It excels with consistent branding that makes it quite easy for a consumer to recognize and identify with. Similarly, if I’m a creative director, I’m sold on the idea of this as a guideline for the visuals for the next big drop/campaign.

John Osborn, a.k.a. Sentive, is a 15-year-old graphic artist from Connecticut. With 2 ½ years of experience, SEN has worked with some of the top teams in esports, including Team Limit and TRNL Gaming. His work has also caught the attention of some notable figures in the industry like FaZe Sway, TSM Ops, and FaZe Flea, among others.
