After months of speculation and rumors, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is heading to the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo announced Wednesday during its Nintendo Direct that the viral hit to be coming to the Nintendo Switch this fall.
Released in February 2020, Fall Guys was was available for the PC and PlayStation4. In its first few months, it was downloaded nearly 7 million times and broke various Twitch records in the summer months, becoming a global phenomenon, which spawned memes, viral moments, and laughs with friends and family.
Fans were left wondering for months whether or not the multiplayer battle royale would make the jump to other platforms, and various news sources in the summer claimed there would be no plans for a Switch version. Until now.
Fall Guys places you as a cast of colorful characters challenging 99 other players to be the last character standing. Through multiple colorful arenas, team challenges and unique opportunities to be the last one left, Fall Guys is family fun for everyone. It also saw popular streamers like TimTheTatman, Jacksepticeye and Ninja create viral moments on Twitch and YouTube. As of Wednesday, Fall Guys is currently in Season 3.5 which features winter costumes and new winter themed environments.
The game also created viral moments for charity, including the four-way split of a charity skin between Mr. Beast, G2 Esports, Ninja and AIM Labs that raised $1 million for SpecialEffect – a charity that focused on making gaming more accessible for gamers with disabilities.
