FaZe 5 By the Numbers: A Look into The Metrics Behind the Recruitment Challenge

Today is November 6, which means we are 55 days away from the end of 2020. We’ve just passed 1 of 3 major end-of-year holidays, the one where the average American consumes 3.4 pounds of candy, or up to 7,000 calories worth. It is a “known” fact that once Halloween hits, any given year proceeds to progress 2 times faster, which is great; we’re all 100 percent ready for 2020 to end. But the year has 1 shining light left, 1 topic so great, it’ll blow everything else out of the water. I’m talking, of course, about the #FaZe 5 Recruitment Challenge.

FaZe 5

The topic at hand today is all about numbers, specifically, some intriguing numbers and stats behind the RC that has made the competition so interesting. And since it took me 100 words (exactly- you can check) to even mention FaZe5, let’s get straight to it.

If the influence of the FaZe Clan wasn’t clear before, it is now, as the wildly popular lifestyle and gaming organization received over 200,000 applicants for the FaZe 5 Recruitment Challenge. #FaZeUp

It’s been six years since the last FaZe5 RC, which was held in 2014. The first was held in 2013, so this year marks the third one in FaZe’s history as well as the biggest. Not only gamers, but artists, musicians, comedians, and literally anyone else who creates any type of content were  all invited to participate.

The initial release date for the top 100 reveal was October 2. Due to the sheer number of applicants however, the announcement was made on October 23—21 days later than intended.

Roughly the number of hours FaZe manager @Yoseph spent watching FaZe5 submission videos on Twitch.

The chances of making it to the top 100.

The chances of snagging one of the five coveted spots as one of the newest members of the FaZe Clan. Of course, that’s better than a 0% chance, which is what many faced for not even trying. It’s as FaZe 5 participant @duxcess said: “Shoot for the moon; even if you miss, the stars aren’t too bad.”Congrats to everyone who went for the challenge—just participating was a win in and of itself.

And then there were 100—the amount of people still standing as part of stage 2..

The amount of subscribers to FaZe 5 Top 100 candidate and YouTuber Tiko. This is the most of anyone in the recruitment challenge.

Check out the Stropse exclusive interview featuring Tiko here.

The amount of the FaZe 5 top 100 featured in our ‘Voices of FaZe 5’ series, namely: Potter, Zogoro, Timpers, Montoya Twinz, Avori, AlohaMyy, L3WG, Noizess, Faxuty, Kai Robinson, and GrantTheGoat.

The very first winner of the first FaZe 5 Recruitment Challenge back in 2013 is also competing in this year’s tournament, ACSM certified personal trainer and Call of Duty sniper extraordinaire Rockst4r. He, of course, made it into the top 100.

There are two sets of twins that made it through to the top 100: the Montoya Twinz and the Carter Twins

The intriguing combination of the FaZe 5 hype and the influence of some of the gaming world’s top content creators makes for a very successful YouTube algorithm. The #FaZe5 submission video with the most buzz was Flea’s, with over 2.2 million views. K1nGOD’s video racked up 1.8 million. Both creators made it to the top 100.

The number of applicants to UCLA IN 2019, which was the most of any college in the 2019-2020 admissions cycle. FaZe 5 nearly doubled that number with over 200,000 applicants.

At 6 years old, young Warzone prodigy Rowdy Rogan is the youngest participant in the FaZe 5 Recruitment Challenge. He made the top 100. Should he join FaZe, he would be the youngest member of the clan by a significant margin of 7 years. FaZe H1ghSky is the current youngest member at 13 years old.

At 50 years old, the “world’s oldest Fortnite pro” Actingliketommy is the elder statesman of the RC. He also made it to the top 100.

The amount of prize money that each FaZe 5 winner will receive, along with a GFUEL endorsement contract for 3-6 months, valued at $2,000 – $5,000 USD per month. The first FaZe 5 winner announced will also be given a 2020 Nissan Kicks vehicle that has been customized by West Coast Customs…

… assuming they are 18 or older. 👀

The one number that matters the most. By the end of this challenge, the grind, hard work, passion, and tenacious pursuit of excellence for 5 people will manifest itself into the ultimate goal—a spot in the FaZe Clan.

Who do you think will win FaZe 5?
