Content: Back in 2010, the original members of FaZe Clan met playing on Xbox Live. Little did they know that, eleven years later, the esports organization they’d start would become one of the largest in the world. In order to commemorate their anniversary, the good folks at FaZe Clan have returned to their Xbox origins by collaborating with Microsoft’s Xbox 360.
Along with designating May 30th as “FaZe Day,” FaZe Clan and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 officially released a line of limited edition merchandise. The collection is noted by the press release as being “especially nostalgic and meaningful for the original members of FaZe Clan” and includes a variety of shirts, sweaters, bucket hats, and letterman style jackets, all of which bear FaZe Clan and Xbox logos.
In addition to the commemorative line of merch, FaZe Banks, Apex, Temperrr, Rain, Adapt, Blaze and Teeqo all came together to reflect on their collective journey. The group “filmed an incredibly intimate, heartfelt and of course, hilarious roundtable discussion” that has been crafted into a “special content piece” that is available to view on FaZe Clan’s YouTube channel.
While FaZe Clan has done a number of collaborations over the years, this marks the first time that the org has collaborated with Xbox “and celebrates the impact Xbox 360 and Xbox Live has had not only on FaZe Clan but the gaming community as a whole.” Undoubtedly, FaZe Clan teaming up with the gaming console responsible in part for bringing them all together is a full-circle moment. As FaZe Banks puts it, “This collaboration is extremely special to us because it brings us back to our roots and celebrates how far we’ve come from just being kids who love playing video games to a massive global organization.”
The super exclusive, limited edition merchandise was made available starting on May 30th via FaZe Clan’s website, and fans were quick to jump at the opportunity to snap up the variety of pieces. “We are stoked to share this with our incredible fans who have been with us since the beginning,” said FaZe Banks. Given the fan reaction to the collaboration, it would seem that the feeling is mutual.
