FlyQuest, Amid Roster Blow-Up, Acquires Licorice and Josediodo

FlyQuest will be making sweeping changes to their LCS roster for the 2021 Season. According to ESPN’s Jacob Wolf, FlyQuest will be acquiring contracts of former Cloud9 top laner Eric “Licorice” Ritchie and Rainbow7 jungler Brandon Joel “Josedeodo” Villegas

FlyQuest will also be signing former Cloud9 Academy mid Cristian “Palafox” Palafox and David “Diamond” Bérubé, as well as former Dignitas AD Carry Johnson “Johnsun” Nguyen and Evil Genius AD Carry Matthew “Deftly” Chen. According to Jacob Wolf of ESPN, Johnsun will be in the starting position over Deftly.

These roster swaps come after FlyQuest’s appearance at the 2020 World Championship coming at 3-3. Wolf has confirmed former support Lee “IgNar” Dong-geun will be heading to Evil Geniuses and the remainder of their former roster is unknown.

Josediodo was the star of Rainbow7 at Worlds taking games off of the Unicorns of Love and LGD. His signing will bring excitement as one of the first Latin American imports to head to North America. He and Rainbow7 won the Closing Split of the LLA Region and was a strong jungler throughout the Worlds Play-In stage.

Licorice was considered one of the hottest pickups of the offseason after leaving Cloud9. Cloud9 has made significant changes after their disappointing summer failing to qualify for Worlds 2020 for the first time including the promotion of  Ibrahim “Fudge” Allami to the main roster.

Diamond and Palafox come off of a dominant split in both Summer and Spring for the North American League of Legends Academy Series as well as Deftly.
