Whether you were a fan of the primal and crafting meta or not, Fortnite fans have long awaited a big change to the mega-popular battle royale. Today, Chapter 2 Season 7 brought a huge theme change, hinted by this week’s alien abductions, and a number of brand new features. Let’s check out what we know so far:
First thing’s first, take a look at the Season 7 story trailer which was posted just as downtime began at 2 a.m. ET on June 8.
Right away in the trailer and on the loading sreen, you can tell that the alien and UFO theme is spot on. Appearances from Superman, Rick and Morty and more appeared in the trailer with some futuristic looking weapons.
Of course, one of the best things about Fortnite is large vault of skins, back bling, loading screens and emotes to help personize your game and this season has plenty of them.
New Reward System – Battle Stars can be collected and exchanged for the battle pass rewards you want.
Season 7 Map
Although the entire map wasn’t demolished like some fans wanted it to be, there are two new locations to discover on the map. POIs Believer Beach and Corny Complex take the place of Sweaty Sands and Colossal Crops. Additionally, the center of fall leaves has been replaced by some purple substance that also appears in areas around the map.
The trailer briefly showed off some of the crazy weapons that have been added to the game, including one that can pick up and throw objects like a car. VastBlastt on Twitter shows four new weapons that will be added right away.
And it looks like snipers and other well-known weapons are finally returning after a full season of bows and primal weapons:
Aliens and UFOs
We are still figuring everything out when it comes to the aliens (there might even be a chance to fly a UFO), but here is what we know so far:
The first thing officially announced by @FortniteStatus on Twitter was that players will now have the ability to cancel a shakedown of an opponent. This comes to the appreciation of a number of professionals and content creators who have been accidentally shaking down since the feature was released.
Some accounts had teased that llamas would get an update in Season 7 and for now all we know is that they are alive and run around the map, according to HYPEX.
Stropse.com will continue to update this article if more information becomes available, as we did for Fortnite v16.50. In the meantime, load up the update and let us know what you think about the new season.
