CS:GO pro Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovács took to Twitter to announce that he is no longer with Natus Vincere and is now a free agent. His announcement came after being on NaVi’s inactive roster since January 2020.
The 29-year-old Slovakian said he is “open to consider any offer” and ready to “grind back my way.” He had joined NaVi in September 2019, spending a mere four months with the team before being benched. He spent the majority of 2020 being inactive. One of GuardiaN’s six appearances in 2020 was as a stand-in for Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli when the latter faced visa issues playing for Dignitas in Flashpoint 1 in early March.
The famed AWPer and renowned player etched his name into history with his phenomenal three-year stint at NaVi that came to an end in 2017. He then moved to FaZe Clan, which was arguably the highest point of his CS:GO career where he won numerous top-tier tournaments with the team.
GuardiaN had claimed FaZe to be his last team at the time, but he was back with Navi in 2019. He struggled to perform in his short four-month stint with the team and was benched in favor of Ilya “Perfecto” Zalutskiy, while the AWPing duty fell on the shoulders of the iconic Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev.
With his less-than-mediocre performances lately, GuardiaN said that he has been grinding and improving his solo performance to make an impact on the CS:GO pro scene. He is far from being done with Counter Strike.
With the exception of 2017 and 2018, GuardiaN has been a top-10 player in CS:GO for six years, according to HLTV.
