The Call of Duty League is going to celebrate its second year this season. This year, teams will have four players instead of five. With many big organizations joining the community as well as rookies we should have our eyes on, here are all the rosters that were announced!
- Sibilants (Sub)
Arcitys is the only new member of the 2021 Atlanta Faze roster. The organization decided to keep aBeZy, Cellium and Simp within the roster and parted ways with MajorManiak and Priestahh. If Arcitys blends well with his teammates, Atlanta FaZe could have better chemistry than last year.
- FeLo (Sub)
The first and latest Call of Duty League champion Dallas Empire kept four of its players and dropped Clayster. Clayster had a huge impact last year, but even without him, the team looks scary and ready to repeat.
- Havok (Sub)
The Florida Mutineers made a radical decision and promoted Neptune to the main roster. Havok is a great player but looks like the organization decided to play with Neptune instead. The young professional’s performance will be a huge deciding factor for the team in 2021.
- Sender (Coach/Sub)
The OpTic brand is back in action. Legendary Call of Duty player Scump and his friends remain in the roster and are ready to compete again behind the Green Wall. The only difference is Dashy’s arrival.
New York Subliners
- HyDra (Sub)
ZooMaa’s unfortunate retirement decision put the Subliners in a tough position going into this year. On top of that, HyDra’s visa issues kicked in and the team had to rebuild the roster. Diamondcon got promoted to the main roster and the Subliners acquired Asim. The picture by Call of Duty League was published earlier than all these moves, so ZooMaa and HyDra are still in it.
London Royal Ravens
- Afro (Sub)
The London Royal Ravens kept Seany, Dylan and Zer0, maintaining its core players. Ex-Minnesota ROKKR player Alexx has been added to the starting lineup as well as Afro to sub. The British spirit is alive and ready to compete again.
Los Angeles Thieves
- Drazah (Sub)
Nadeshot’s 100 Thieves have decided to join the league and acquired OpTic Gaming LA’s spot. OpTic LA players Slasher, Kenny and TJHaLy were also acquired and LA Thieves transferred Temp from the New York Subliners to complete its roster. Most importantly, legendary player JKap will coach the LA Thieves in 2021.
- Insight (Sub)
Canada representative Toronto Ultra didn’t make any changes. However, CDL’s new ruleset forced teams to compete with four-man teams, so it had to release Classic. Last year, the team managed to reach the fifth-sixth spot and took home a prize of $300k. We will see Ultra’s performance without Classic and if it can improve their standings.
Minnesota ROKKR rebuilt its roster from top to bottom. The organization released all its current roster and signed four new talented players. To be honest, this squad looks a lot better than last year on paper. The players’ league performance will be determined during the season.
Paris Legion has also made a full change and signed new faces. The team’s roster announcement was made a little late. Skrapz is the only non-American player on the roster, but since he is from England, there won’t be any language barriers. All four players didn’t play with each other last year, so chemistry may be the biggest problem they may face.
Octane is the only existing member on the roster from last year. All his teammates have joined from different teams. He was one of the most important players on the roster in 2020 so this scenario may not change in 2021. I expect a lot from Prestinni; if he can show his full potential, then this team may aim big.
Los Angeles Guerillas
- Chino (Sub)
- MentaL (Sub)
The Guerillas are the only team with two subs, Chino and MentaL. Vivid is the only player who stayed within the organization from last year. Assault, Silly and Apathy are great pickups and their chemistry with Vivid looks like it won’t be a problem since they showed a decent performance together during Kickoff Classic.
Looks like CDL will be a lot more competitive than it was last year. The Dallas Empire looks like the biggest favorite but nothing is clear yet.
