It seems that even the best of the best at Fortnite still get fed up with the game sometimes. Popular streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, who rose to fame quickly because of his raw skills, seems to have had enough with all the stream sniping and originally said he is leaving Fortnite unless some things change.
However, after the clip started to circulate around social media, Ninja backtracked on the statement and said he would never leave the game for good. However, he still brought up a major problem to the game that has made a number of streamers stop playing.
He had already decided to take a break from Fortnite and go and stream some Halo, and when he came back to Fortnite, he was immediately stream snipped four times in a row. In case you are not up to date with all the streaming lingo, Business Insider put it into words: Stream sniping is “an opportunistic tactic in online gaming when a viewer exploits information by watching the livestream of someone they’re playing against. It’s a simple trick, but stream sniping can result in an experience so frustrating that it can send a livestreamer into expletive-addled rages that get them banned from Twitch.”
After getting streamed sniped this many times in a row, Ninja was understandably pissed off. He had this to say. “This game is so [expletive] stupid, bro…The community, these little kids, it’s just so dumb. It really is. It’s not fun. It’s just not. And the thing is, these [expletive] clout-chasing losers, they have no idea. All they’re doing is just harming the game because I’m going to [expletive] play it. I’m not gonna stream it… But good for you, man… Get your [expletive] clip… send it to your buddies. You killed Ninja. I haven’t played the game in forever. I don’t play it anymore. I come back, and I still almost kill all of you idiots. You guys grind this game 12 hours a day… and I still almost down you with zero practice competitively.”
Although he said he would never leave the game completely, it sure does seem like that could’ve been the end. Perhaps he was just really mad in the moment and will think differently when he has calmed down, but for now we’ll just have to wait and see. If you are someone who partakes in stream sniping, I hope you can look at this article and see how your actions can affect people. It is just not cool.
