Another homecoming story has been written: one of the best in-game leaders in CS:GO history, Finn “karrigan” Andersen, joined FaZe Clan, the organization announced the news on its official Twitter account.
After getting eliminated by Natus Vincere in BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2021, the veteran player Olof Kajbjer “Olofmeister” Gustafsson revealed that he’s going to take a break from competing and stepped down from the active roster of FaZe Clan CS:GO yesterday. The addition came right after that.
Speculations of karrigan joining FaZe Clan have been in the air for a long time since mousesports started to perform badly recently. However, Finn made it clear with a Tweet that he had no problem with his former teammates: “When passion turns to work it’s difficult not to get personally attached to the people you are striving to reach the top with. The entire team have become a family and I want to thank everyone who has been part of this journey. Thank you mousesports, I will never forget it.”
This is a homecoming story as karrigan was a part of FaZe Clan CS:GO team between 2016-18. Despite not winning any major, the Danish player managed to lift several trophies during his period in FaZe such as ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier 2017, IEM XIII and ESL One: New York 2017.
Karrigan’s mousesports journey lasted nearly two years. The veteran in-game leader reached first place in the world ranking with his former team thanks to the tremendous last quarter of 2019. However, 2020 was bumpy for mousesports. Even though it made multiple roster changes, the team couldn’t find the continuity.
FaZe Clan’s current CS:GO roster:
- Marcelo Augusto “coldzera” David
- Helvijs “broky” Saukants
- Russel Van “Twistzz” Dulken
- Havard “rain” Nygaard
- Finn “karrigan” Andersen
