The Los Angeles Thieves got into CDL this season and had the honor to appear in the opening game of the 2021 Call of Duty League season and defeated Minnesota ROKKR by a score of 3-1.
The first game of the series was pretty close in the beginning. LA Thieves got the lead and pursued it until the last minute. Kenny grabbed 32 kills to lead his team, and Attach’s performance on the side of Minnesota was not enough to beat the Thieves’ team play. LA Thieves won the first Hardpoint map 250-194, grabbing the first map win in its first game.
However, Minnesota ROKKR got back in the series by winning the second game. This game was really close since LA Thieves were three kills away from the map point. However, Temp failed to clutch and ROKKR tied the series with a convincing win. ROKKR was actually ahead 5-1, but its opponent managed to win two games in a row on Miami SnD.
LAT secured the third game behind TJHaly’s 24 kills to close out the Control map 3-1, earning match point heading into Hardpoint.
LA Thieves showed an incredible performance in the last game as the last Hardpoint was absolutely one-sided. TJHaly and his friends managed to beat the ROKKR 250-60 and got their first win in their first game.
