Team Liquid today announced some major changes to its LCS roster to both the players on stage as well as the coaching staff.
Joshua “Jatt” Leesman will be stepping down immediately from the head coach position. It was also announced that starting jungler Lucas “Santorin” Tao Kilmer Larsen will be stepping down from the roster to deal with health issues and Jonathan “Armao” Armao will be in the starting position for Week 4.
“After multiple conversations with Steve this week, I have decided to resign as head coach from Team Liquid. This is solely my decision,” Jatt said in a statement on Twitter.
“We cannot thank Jatt enough for his work and dedication to Team Liquid and wish him the best of luck going forward,” the organization said in a statement.
Replacing Jatt as head coach will be Jonas “Kold” Andersen as well as Albert “H4xDefender” Ong taking over as assistant coach.
Separately, Santorin announced he will be stepping down as the starting jungler due to health concerns.
“I am sad to say that I have decided to take a break for at least this week,” he said in a post on TwitLonger. “I am still dealing with a lot of the same health issues that I had during spring, primarily headaches and pressure in my head throughout the day, and we are still trying to figure out what’s really going on.”
Armao will be starting this weekend in Team Liquid’s game versus Evil Geniuses and will continue to play throughout the weekend.
This is also following the earlier roster shuffle in which Barney “Alphari” Morris was announced to be on a personal break from the game. Thomas “Jenkins” Tran has been playing in the starting position since the beginning of the LCS.
Team Liquid finished the first round robin 5-4 after pushing Cloud9 to five games in the Spring Split and finishing the spring with a 12-6 record. It will face Evil Geniuses in the first game of Week 4.
