The Los Angeles Guerillas showed a questionable performance yesterday against Atlanta FaZe. Today, in their second of back-to-back first-week matches, the team managed to defeat Paris Legion by a score of 3-2. LAG secured its first win of the season whereas Paris Legion couldn’t pull the trigger in its season opener.
The Guerillas-Legion series started with a head-to-head Hardpoint game. Both teams fought to the end, and Paris Legion had a small lead but the Los Angeles Guerillas showed a better performance in the end, winning 250-199. You have to watch the vod to see Apathy’s performance; He literally played like a monster and secured 36 kills, while Aqua’s performance wasn’t enough for Paris Legion.
Both teams went back and forth in the beginning, but the Los Angeles Guerillas increased the gap after dropping two rounds. Guerillas managed to win the game and maintained a 2-0 lead in the series. Vivid came out clutch and carried his team in the second game by finding 10 kills as well as a couple of great tactical plays. Assault was second on the leaderboard for the Guerillas with nine kills. On the other hand, Paris Legion’s Fire did all he could with six kills of his own.
Paris Legion certainly didn’t want a sweep so Aqua and his teammates took the third game seriously. It looked like Control was Legion’s strong side and the team proved it with a 3-1 victory. Skrapz took his teammates on his shoulders and carried them with 32 kills. Assault’s 4740 total score wasn’t enough in the end for the Guerillas.
After winning the third game, Paris Legion found its tempo, took the momentum and forced a map five by winning the Hardpoint map 250-198. Aqua showed his full potential by securing 35 kills, with the help of Fire. The Los Angeles Guerillas were complacent throughout the game and the Paris Legion squad got mentaly stronger before getting into the fifth game.
Game five was a real competition for sure as both teams were so close to match point. Skrapz’s early-game streak helped Paris Legion get off to a good start; however, LAG’s team play was the key part in the last game. The team reset its mentality after dropping two games in a row and managed to close the series. Silly and Vivid stepped up with 19 kills combined and helped their team get its first win in 2021.
