Put on your Yarmulke, it’s time for Hanukkah! Or Chanukkah. Or Hannukah. (Never Xanuka, that’s blasphemous.) However you spell it, the festival of lights starts tonight, and Lost Tribe Esports has you covered. The Jewish video-game-focused non-profit is set to host Eight Nights of Giveaways in celebration of the eight nights of Hanukkah, full of prizes, candle lighting, and streams.
Each night of the holiday starting this evening, Lost Tribe Esports will not only stream and give prizes away, but also raise Tzedakah (Hebrew for “righteousness,” used to mean charitable giving,) with the aim of raising $1000 by the eighth night to donate to Project HOPE. By reaching this goal, they will be able to help Project HOPE “deliver life saving medicine, training and aid to communities in need around the world.” They will be hosting the event on the Lost Tribe Esports Twitch channel.
The event shows Lost Tribe using channel points in a unique way. To win one of the prizes, viewers must watch the streams live. Every 10 minutes, viewers will be awarded 10 points. These points can be exchanged for virtual raffle tickets, which will be used in the raffle at the end of each night’s stream.
The prizes include merch, a pre-built gaming PC, and an Oculus Quest, all leading up to the grand-prize giveaway: a new XBox Series S.
Lost Tribe Esports is a Jewish non-profit organization with the goal of bringing communities together through gaming.
