Epic Games revealed the new Master Chief and The Walking Dead bounty hunters as playable characters in Fortnite during The Game Awards 2020.

The UNSC Spartan’s inclusion from the Halo series isn’t a big surprise since it was hinted at in previous leaks and speculations. The Master Chief’s MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor skin is available individually or as part of the bundle featuring a Warthog emote, a UNSC Pelican glider, and the Gravity Hammer that Brutes don in the Halo universe. Players can unlock a black version of the skin if they play a match on the Xbox Series X or Series S after their skin purchase. The bundle is currently being sold at a discounted price of 2,600 V-bucks against its original price of 4,000 V-bucks.

The announcement came from Donald Mustard – the creative director at Fortnite – with an animated trailer set in the renowned Blood Gulch map from Halo: CE. Players will be able to play Capture the Flag on the map for a limited time. The map became available on December 11 at 10 AM EST. The animated short also featured Twitch streamer Ninja alongside characters from the famous web series Red vs. Blue.

As part of the same announcement, a separate animated short declared the inclusion of Daryl and Michonne from The Walking Dead TV-series into the game would come at a later date. This announcement follows the recent release of Kratos from God of War, and The Mandalorian & Baby Yoda in Early December.
