After all the rumors and speculation, a new Nintendo Switch model has officially been confirmed for the fall.
For most of us, seeing things like Nintendo Switch Pro and New Nintendo Switch trending on Twitter every other week became a natural occurrence. After so much speculation and high hopes, it’s finally happening; A new Nintendo Switch model has been officially confirmed to be arriving this fall.
The new model is referred to as the Nintendo Switch (OLED Model), befitting of its new capabilities and higher performance. This new Nintendo Switch model will have a seven-inch OLED screen, which will enhance visual presentation. The Switch will have a wide, adjustable stand, an upgrade from the small, skewed stand on original Switch models. This will see improved stability for Tabletop mode.
The new Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) will also have a dock with a wired LAN port for direct online connection and play. This can be used in the Switch’s TV mode. The new model will also boast higher storage capability, with 64 GB of internal storage. Along with these improvements, the new Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) will also have enhanced audio performance.
The Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) will function as a normal Nintendo Switch model, having the three playable modes of TV Mode, Tabletop Mode and Handheld Mode. It is also highly speculated that this new Nintendo Switch model’s Joy-Cons will be significantly improved from the original’s. There are currently two color sets that are confirmed, a Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) White set and a Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) Neon Red/Neon Blue set, the latter of which reflects the original model’s standard colors.
The new Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) is currently slated to release on October 8, 2021.
