ZooMaa was a big part of the Subliners roster last year. Before his retirement announcement, fans thought he was going to stay with the team for another year, but things didn’t go as planned. Subliners had to find a replacement for ZooMaa in a short amount of time and the team decided to promote the academy team’s talented player, Diamondcon, to the main roster.
Diamondcon has been in the scene since 2018 but didn’t have any opportunity to show what he is capable of in Call of Duty League’s first year, which was in 2020. Before joining the Subliners, Diamondcon appeared in amateur tournaments with teams like Reign, Elite Esports, Forfeit Gaming, Mount Olympus, Sixth Gear and Triumph. These experiences were all short term. The longest one was with Triumph, which lasted around three months.
ZooMaa’s retirement plan was not something the community expected, but it is obvious that the team knew about it. With his absence, the New York Subliners will try their best to win the ‘ship. Diamondcon may be a great fit for the roster.
The Call of Duty League begins in February, so the New York Subliners have a decent amount of time to practice with Diamondcon. We still don’t know what he can bring to the roster, but Diamondcon’s duty will be clear when the league starts.
