The face of NA League of Legends, Yiliang (Peter) “Doublelift” Peng announced his retirement on Wednesday from professional play.

In a TwitLonger post published by Doublelift, he writes, “I feel deeply grateful for the opportunity to make a career out of the one thing in life I have loved above all else. I traveled the world, made unforgettable memories, played in front of huge crowds, and saw my dreams come true. All of it was possible because I had the support of the fans and community.”

This marks the end of a storied career for Doublelift, who’s won multiple titles across the different organizations he’s been associated with. Doublelift won eight of the last 11 splits he was a part of through Counter Logic Gaming, TSM and Team Liquid, made multiple trips to Worlds and was a runner up at the 2019 Mid Season Invitational.

Considered one of the best North American players to grace the field, his long career has had a myriad of highlights. Doublelift started his career in CLG and stayed there from 2012 to 2015, where he won his first title. After moving to TSM and winning another title, he took a break before helping a ninth-place Team Liquid retain their spot in the LCS. He then moved back to the star-studded lineup of TL, where he won four back-to-back titles before ending his career at TSM.

Across the world, casters, professionals and League fans celebrated Doublelift’s long career and offered best wishes for the career ahead.

TSM themselves have not commented on this announcement but are likely to make a post in the next few days. An announcement regarding Doublelift’s replacement is to be determined.

For now, we at stropsE give our best wishes to Doublelift and thank him for inspiring players across the country and the globe.
