The new week starts with unexpected news in LEC. Astralis’ star mid laner Erlend “Nukeduck” Våtevik Holm stepped down from the starting roster due to personal reasons, the team announced. The Danish organization added Felix “MagiFelix” Boström to the squad as the starting mid laner.
Nukeduck’s personal reasons are unknown as neither the team nor player shared any further details. However, if new information pops off, this article will be updated in due course.
According to the statement in which Astralis welcomed its newest mid laner, MagiFelix has already arrived in Copenhagen, where the team’s offices are, and is preparing for LEC’s Week 4. “MagiFelix has signed a contract until March 31. The timing for Nukeduck’s return at this point is uncertain and we look forward to seeing him back in action,” the organization said. Astralis is going to play against Schalke 04 and Misfits Gaming this upcoming weekend in the league.
Despite being one of the promising stars in Europe, MagiFelix couldn’t find a starting spot in any LEC team until today. The 20-year-old mid laner was a part of Fnatic between January 2019 and November 2020, he played for Fnatic Academy, Fnatic Rising and Fnatic, as a substitute.
In the 2020 summer, Origen was rebranded as Astralis, and the organization created a team made up of EU Masters’ players. However, they didn’t start the league as they wanted, with only one victory in seven games at the bottom of the league.
