OpTic Chicago Seals Important Win Over LA Thieves

OpTic Chicago and the Los Angeles Thieves are two major teams that are seen in the contenders list for the 2021 season. In the first Major of 2021, OpTic Chicago beat LAT by a score of 3-1 to advance to Elimination Round 5 in the tournament.

Game 1 – Hardpoint

To be honest, I wanted to see these teams compete in Hardpoint the most. Both teams are pretty good in Hardpoint and today we saw which one is better. OpTic Chicago’s GOAT duo of Scump and FormaL came out clutch as they smurfed on the Los Angeles Thieves players. OpTic started the series with a solid 250-190 win in Hardpoint. Envoy did a great job securing the Hardpoint area and helping his teammates. OpTic went ahead 1-0.

Game 2 – Search and Destroy

Tension was at its peak in the second game. The Los Angeles Thieves managed to win the 11th round with TJHaly’s clutch 1v1 play in the end. TJ kept his team in the game and tied the series at 1-1. Dashy did all he could in his final round 1v2, but with the bomb down, TJ played his spot perfect. Shortly, LAT won the round and tied the series.

Game 3 – Control

At first, I thought we were going to watch a head-to-head game but the Los Angeles Thieves couldn’t bring the intensity. OpTic Chicago played much better during the last rounds and won the game 3-1. Dashy stepped up with 21 kills and 3,705 points. SlasheR had a tough map, he is a great player and all that, but he really pulled down his team in this one.

Game 4 – Hardpoint

The Los Angeles Thieves got mentally behind and it reflected on the scoreboard. OpTic Chicago secured an easy win with a score of 250-166. TJHaly got the most kills on the side of LA Thieves and it was only 18. However, FormaL and Scump played a lot better considering their opponents and got 42 kills combined. OpTic Chicago had no troubles closing the game in eight and a half minutes.

OpTic Chicago will face New York Subliners in the upcoming round. We will witness the duel of Scump and Clayster (LET’S GO!). Lastly, farewell to the Los Angeles Thieves from the Stage 1 Major.
