After long and much anticipation from fans, a Pokemon Presents livestream has finally been confirmed for broadcast on Friday February 26 at 10 am EST, 7 am PDT. The video presentation comes on the eve of the 25th Anniversary of Pokemon, of which celebrational events such as the McDonald’s Pokemon Happy Meals have already commenced.
The upcoming Pokemon Presents livestream is leaving fans holding their breath in the wait for what’s to come. Considering this is the 25th Anniversary of Pokemon, fans and individuals expect huge announcements to commemorate the milestone year for the franchise.
Popular speculation includes possible remake titles for the 2006 Nintendo DS games Pokemon Diamond Version and Pokemon Pearl Version. Consideration for this comes in acknowledgement of Nintendo’s and Game Freak’s long history of generational remake titles, including Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen Versions, Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions, and the most relatively recent Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. With respect to Generation III of Pokemon receiving the most recent remake titles back in 2014, fans naturally expect Generation IV to be next in this sequence.
While Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Version remakes have been the wider talk of potential announcements, the possibilities are far and wide with Pokemon, especially with regard to its commemoration of 25 years. Earlier this year, New Pokemon Snap was announced to launch for the Nintendo Switch on April 30, 2021, coming nearly 22 years after its predecessor, Pokemon Snap, released for N64. The Pokemon Presents broadcast may reveal more details about this upcoming simulation title.
There has also been some speculation regarding the Pokemon Let’s Go series, in light of Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokemon: Let’s Go Eevee, with contemplation of possible additions to this particular series of Pokemon games.
Regarding the slew of opinions and theories going around, these remain simple speculations. With so much anticipation and a wide array of potential announcements in light of the 25th Anniversary of Pokemon, the broadcast will tell all when it premieres tomorrow.
