Mobile gaming has been getting bigger and bigger every year, and one of its prominent games is reaching its brand new second title in 2021. The creators of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, Krafton and PUBG Studio, have announced PUBG: New State for mobile and tablets.
When PUBG was first released for PC in 2016, the game became the favourite of many players immediately. Thanks to its realistic weapon and environment designs, the game broke multiple records in Steam and made battle royale the most popular genre for years.
In 2018, the developers wanted to expand the title’s success to mobile devices and released the mobile version of PUBG. As the first version, PUBG Mobile has earned huge achievements in mobile gaming. According to Sensor Tower’s report, PUBG Mobile reached 734 million downloads worldwide by July of 2020.
And now, the same creators bring a new type of PUBG for their mobile players. PUBG: New State will feature an evolved battle royale experience, ultra-realistic graphics that push the limits of mobile gaming, dynamic gunplay and an exclusive new map that expands the PUBG Universe, as the developers say.
The new title of PUBG will be set in the near future, 2051, years after the original game. Players will deploy into the new battleground called TROI and explore the new universe and landmarks. PUBG: New State will also feature renewed game mechanics such as combat rolls, drones, a futuristic ballistic shield and in-game weapon customization. Optimizing mobile gaming with next-generation graphics, the game will offer a massive 8×8 new vehicle map to its players.
The exact release date for PUBG: New State hasn’t been determined yet, but developers plan it to be released in 2021. Pre-registration is currently available on Google Play for Android users. iOS users have to wait a little longer for pre-register though. You can access the game’s website here.
