Resident Evil 8 Teases Viewers with Chris Redfield Image

Resident Evil 8 is not set to release until next year, but a newly-released photo that recently from the developers has fans thinking that their favorite character might take on a darker role in the upcoming game. Chris Redfield has been a character popping in and out of previous Resident Evil games; in fact, he only had about 30 seconds of dialogue in the last game, though there was a whole DLC that painted him be the main character. Long story short, Chris Redfield is an important character that has always put the fans of the series at ease; we trust him to be a source of good in a game with so much evil. However, this might not be the case for much longer.

In the tweet linked above, Chris Redfield’s face appears morphed into some sort of werewolf-type creature. Since the photo’s arrival, fans have been in a frenzy worrying that their favorite character may be evil in the upcoming game, announced formally as Resident Evil: Village.

The game is set to release April of 2021 and many of the details have been kept under wraps. With this in mind, it’s possible this picture could not mean much when it comes to the actual finalized version of the game. Perhaps this picture was released to simply create hype for the upcoming game instead of hinting that our favorite character will turn to the dark side.

If you want more information on the upcoming game, check out my previous article about what happened when a full leak was released to the public. Even if my favorite character is going to be a werewolf this game, this is still the game I am most excited for in the upcoming year. If you have not played any of the games in this series, I would highly recommend. Start with number 7: it is one of the most polished and scary games in the entire collection. From there, you’ll be more than ready for 8.
