Sccc Leaves EHOME Days Before DPC 2021, Replaced by Ahjit

EHOME announced the departure of their star carry player Song “Sccc” Chun via their Weibo. The ex-Newbee player of the team’s 2017 fame departed from EHOME on friendly terms. Shortly after the announcement, the team announced the acquisition of Lai “Ahjit” Jay Son as Sccc’s replacement.

After a star studded performance, which placed them in second place at Ti, Newbee were unable to perform consistently afterwards. Ti 8 had a terrible showing, said in Sccc’s own words in a statement released after their Ti 8 lower bracket knockout by Winstrike Team. Following this, Sccc announced that he will be taking a hiatus from Dota 2.

Sccc then joined Team Aster in September, 2019 with a one year contract, which he did not renew in 2020. Almost immediately after leaving Team Aster in September 2020, Sccc joined EHOME, where he helped them secure top 5 finishes across tournaments, taking first place at the DPL-CDA Professional League Seasons 1 and 2.

Now, with barely two weeks before the start of the DPC 2021, Sccc has willingly become a free agent. According to EHOME, the termination of contract was done in accordance with Sccc’s wishes, and the organization retains cordial relations with the player. Nonetheless, with EHOME being one of the top Chinese teams directly invited to the DPC 2021 upper bracket, it remains a mystery why Sccc chose to forego an opportunity to be at Ti 10, schedule to be held in August 2021.

EHOME was quick to acquire the Malaysian player Ahjit as replacement. His past notable teams include Fnatic, Mineski, CDEC, and PSG.LGD, with podium finishes at Perfect World Dota2 League Season 3 – Division A, ESL One Mumbai 2019, DreamLeague Season 10, and the Southeast Asia Cyber Arena 2018.

Although a terrific player, Ahjit is yet to have top-of-the-line international tournament finishes like Sccc. Being one of the few players to hit 10,000 MMR in 2020, his gameplay and talent are nothing to be balked at. Nonetheless, with the DPC 2021 starting on January 18, Ahjit has little time to gel with his new team.

Current EHOME Dota 2 roster:

Lai “Ahjit” Jay Son
Guo “Xm” Hongcheng
Yang “Chalice”‘ Shenyi
Pan “Fade” Yi
Jian Wei “xNova” Yap
