The 2020 Game Awards Pre-Show Winners and Game Announcements

The 2020 Game Awards kicked off explosively with the presentation of winners, several upcoming game announcements and an astounding performance from singer Lyn Inaizumi and her band for the highly anticipated Persona 5 Strikers (Coming 2021).

The 2020 Game Awards official TikTok account @TheGameAwards also held a vote to see which The Last of Us Part II team they favored, Team Ellie or Team Abby, with Team Ellie taking the win. Additionally, Reddit’s r/gaming community’s pick for 2020’s Game of the Year went to Ghost of Tsushima.

The 2020 Game Awards also showcased a slew of new and upcoming titles, some of which are available now. Some of the reveals and features include:


Tchia, an upcoming open-world adventure title inspired by New Caledonia. This sneak peak offered a look at beautiful imagery and intriguing gameplay mechanics, including taking control of animals and objects and playing a ukulele.

Sea of Solitude: Director’s Cut

Arriving on the Nintendo Switch, the trailer of Sea of Solitude Director’s Cut gave us a look at the alluring indie title. The game is set to feature new voice acting, a new script, and new features including a photo mode.

Shady Part of Me

Shady Part of Me is a dark, puzzle platformer game that is available now on Steam and the Xbox One. The game features actor Hannah Murray (Game of Thrones, Skins, etc.) and dives into themes of human psychology and brings players through creative and thought-provoking puzzle gameplay.

Nier Replicant

The 2020 Game Awards graced us with clips of gameplay from the much anticipated 2021 title Nier Replicant Ver. 1.22474487139…, showcasing fiery combat and enthralling graphics. Nier Replicant Ver. 1.22474487139 is set for release on April 23rd, 2021.

We are OFK

The trailer for the upcoming interactive game We Are OFK featured a delightful musical presentation and calming imagery. We Are OFK arrives in the Spring of 2021.

Century: Age of Ashes

The Century: Age of Ashes trailer featured its beautiful graphics and dragon v. dragon gameplay, with players soaring through gorgeous locations and battling to “rule the skies”. This multiplayer title is set for release February 2021.
