The First Update Released in 8 Years is now live for Left 4 Dead 2

If you had given up on Left 4 Dead 2, it is time to dust off that old game or re-download it onto your gaming device because for the first time in almost a decade, the game is getting an update. The update is called The Last Stand, which makes sense as it is the last update the game will ever get. Here is the statement released with the update.

It has been many years since the infection first hit. Radio silence, no sign of life, nothing but lingering hopes… CEDA is not going to save us. But there is hope! A few brave souls have continued the fight against all odds, and soon we can all benefit from their resilience.”

I have to be honest, this description of the update sounds incredible and I literally cannot wait to play it. I love the fact that the game is mentioning the fact that time has passed for us in the real world but also in the game.

According to the creators of the update, there are over 1000 changes to the game, including new maps, new weapons, new enemy types and a ton of bug fixes to make the game feel like it did not come out literally a decade ago. If you do not have the game, it is your lucky day: the game is free this weekend for any player, and then just two dollars when the weekend is over. It might be time for people who have never had this game to get in and see what all the fuss is about. I am honestly getting a little emotional; this game has been around since I first started playing video games, and while it is sad to see it end, I hope this final update gives it the goodbye it deserves.
