A full 530 days after the last one, Nintendo has finally announced that there will be a new Nintendo Direct. Tomorrow.
Tomorrow’s Direct will cover games “like Super Smash Bros Ultimate,” as well as “games coming to the Switch in the first half of 2021.” So not only does this tease announcements – it teases another Nintendo Direct, later in the year.
So far, the only big deals Nintendo has announced for the first half of 2021 are Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, which came out on Friday, and New Pokemon Snap, which is out on April 30.
However, as we’ve previously discussed on Stropse, there is a lot that could happen. More Pokemon releases are almost certain, due to it being its 25th anniversary. Additionally, The Legend of Zelda is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, and the Switch is notably absent of Zelda ports (minus the retooled Link’s Awakening, of course).
Then there’s the Big Three: Breath of the Wild 2, Bayonetta 3, and Metroid Prime 4. Will Nintendo finally have any news to offer on these long-awaited games, locked away in secrecy and eternal development?
We only have to wait until tomorrow afternoon (5 pm EST / 2 pm PST) to find out.
