With a game as large and detailed as Cyberpunk 2077, there are bound to be some amazing character hidden throughout. Here are my top 5.
Starting off at No. 5 is a character that you meet during the start of the game, Viktor Vector (dope name right?) This guy is just an all-around solid dude. He is a ripperdoc and his operating room can be found behind Misty’s shop. He lets V go on credit numerous times throughout the game and never complains about it. This just shows how much he actually cares for V, and his calm and relaxed personality is not fake. During the original gameplay reveal, he was one of the first characters shown to the public.
Here is what the game had to say about him, “When technology became advanced, cyberware became common. This is why people in Night City need ripperdocs. Ripperdocs are medical technicians — half doctors, half engineers. They can patch you up in no time, stitching your gut after it has been slashed open and tending to bullet wounds. And if your tech is broken, they can either fix it or install new, illegal wares. Viktor is a master of both — the scalpel and the screwdriver. Having been a ringside physician for years, he sure has enough experience.”
At No. 4 is Delamain. He is an AI that controls a car that is able to pick up passengers and even protect them from the dangers this world has to offer. He is also very sassy and has some great quotes throughout the game.
Here is what the game has to say about him, “A standard Villefort Cortes outfitted with artificial intelligence. While other AIs on the market are little more than glorified chatbots connected to speech synthesizers, Delamain clearly possesses a well-defined personality. He can also bypass rush-hour traffic jams like it’s no one’s business. Of course, Delamain is not so advanced to be self-aware… At least not according to his technical specs.”
At No. 3 is Judy Alvarez. She is a skilled technician and a potential romance partner for V. She is part of a couple of main missions and numerous side missions. In order to get her full story, I would highly recommend doing all missions that have her in it. She is quite the complex character and has a lot of demons.
At No. 2 is Panam Palmer. She has become sort of a meme these last couple days because every player has a crush on her. It is easy to see why. She is a strong independent woman who doesn’t take orders from anyone. Even though she does not seem to like or trust V at the start when you meet her, as the game goes on you can become close with her. Doing her side missions is a must as they will potentially get you a better ending to the game. She is also able to be romanced if the right game decisions are made.
Here is what the game has to say about her. “Panam is a nomad — although, maybe “ex-nomad” rings truer these days. She locked horns with the family’s leader, Saul, left Aldecaldo nation and moved to Night City to try her luck as a merc. Panam’s life is at a crossroads — on one hand she knows her life needs a change, it’s now or never. On the other hand, burning bridges with the nomad family where all her friends are might have been a bit drastic. On top of that, Night City doesn’t take too kindly to nomads or have patience for people like Panam who are internally conflicted and dream of a brighter future.”
At No. 1, you know it has to be Jackie. He is a character that you will meet no matter what life path you do, and he ends up being your right-hand man for the duration of the introduction to the game. He is Spanish speaking and is shown being extremely loyal and carrying for his family and friends. He wants to make it big, so he can take care of the people he loves. Sadly, no matter what you do, your loveable friend will die before you get to the main part of the game. RIP my friend.
This is what the game had to say about our guy, “A gun for hire, Jackie is a highly skilled assassin. In the Wild West setting, he’d surely be a gunslinger or a bounty hunter. 2077 has him as a cyberpunk, just outside the big league. And he really wants to get into the game.”
