After the busy schedule of open qualifiers for VALORANT Champions Tour Stage 1: Challengers 1, the top eight teams which will take places in the main event have been revealed for North America. The main event is going to be played between Feb. 4-8, following the semifinals and grand final of qualifiers.
The open qualifiers of VCT’s Stage 1 were full of surprises since some of the strongest teams of North America got eliminated in the early stage of the bracket. T1, 100 Thieves, TSM and Cloud9 Blue were among the teams who couldn’t make it to the main event. Still, the last step of the tournament will bring action-packed competition; VCT Stage 1: Challengers 1’s Main Stage Participants are:
- Gen.G Esports
- Luminosity Gaming
Getting to the last stage of the tournament was a hard task to complete for all teams since they had to play several best-of-three series in two days consecutively. Even though XSET managed to beat Cloud9 White and TSM in the qualifiers, it looks like the weakest team of the main stage. However, estimating in VALORANT is tough since the game tends to have unexpected results more than any other FPS games.
Teams’ seeds in the main event will be determined after the semi-finals and the grand final of the qualifiers, and we need to see them to guess which teams are close to the title. However, regardless of the seeds, Sentinels, Envy and Immortals are the likely favorites, as they’ve been competing and performing well in high-tier tournaments for a long time.
Starting on Feb. 4, the group stage of VCT Challengers 1 will be streamed, unlike the qualifiers. You can follow the games on VALORANT’s Twitch and YouTube channels.
