Top Esports Takes The Close Fought Win Against DRX

In a game for soul possession of first, Top Esports pulled out no stops against LCK representatives DRX. In a game with unconventional picks such as the Quinn into Renekton, Zhuo “knight” Ding pulled out a Nocturne mid (LEC Caster Vedius’s reaction is a must see) and carried the team on his back. With the top seed up for grabs, it will be anyone’s game.

First blood was taken by Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon onto Bai “369” Jia-Hao’s Renekton and early tempo was secured by DRX with Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon on the Twisted Fate versus knight.

After back and forth kills and multiple dragons going towards Top Esports, Hung “Karsa” Hao-Hsuan goes in for a successful Mountain Dragon steal with the Nidalee and knight picks up another kill onto the Nocturne.

From there, TES began their climb of a negative deficit leading a slight gold advantage. Yet the game broke towards TES when knight turned an entire tower dive around for 369 and was able to pick up a few quick kills with Yu “JackeyLove” Wen-Bo getting attention on the Senna.

Following that, TES turns for the Baron and were able to successfully claim it with no contest. But it was quickly thrown away with a clever engage from Doran and Chovy and a negative Baron power-play from Top Esports.

After a back and forth blood bath for the remaining part of the game, TES take a quick tower fight to successfully close the game and lock first for now.

As the first half of groups wraps up tomorrow, Top Esports will look to go undefeated in the first half of groups with a win against the Unicorns of Love. Meanwhile, DRX will look to take on a resurging FlyQuest in tomorrow’s game.
