Team Nigma has put Aliwi “w33” Omar on the inactive roster. The team made the announcement on its Twitter saying that it won’t be going into Season 2 of the Dota Pro Circuit 2021.
“As of today, w33 will be moved from the active roster,” Nigma said. As of the Tweet, w33 will be Team Nigma’s sixth player. The team thanked its former mid laner for his 16-month contribution and commitment to the organization. Nigma mentioned that w33 will can “pursue any opportunity he sees fit when it arises.”
w33’s stint with Team Nigma wasn’t really representative of his true skills. The squad didn’t really have any notable success since its formation. The team placed last in the DPC 2021 Singapore Major.
It’s interesting because Team Nigma had earlier played under Team Liquid’s banner, placing second in the EPICENTER Major 2019 and The International 2019.
w33’s achievements with past teams has been vastly more impressive than his performance in Team Nigma, with podium finishes for more than a dozen Tier 1 tournaments. w33’s time in Team Secret and Digital Chaos cemented his image as one of the better Position 2 players.
Regardless of his recent mediocre performances, w33 remains one of the most talented players in Dota 2. His skill and talent are bound to have him get picked up by other teams before the start of Season 2 of the DPC 2021, which will start on April 13, 2021.
