Xbox Design Lab to Close for the Rest of 2020

I have always wanted to create my own custom controller, but was always just too lazy or too cheap. Now it looks like I may need to get my order in quick as the Xbox design lab is about to shut down for the rest of the year.

The design lab allowed players to customize their own custom controllers to make them look however they wanted. There are numerous options including different patterns, accents and even grip sizes. The company strived to make it so that anything a player could imagine, they could put on a controller.

But now, the site will be closing for the rest of the year in order to “prepare for its next evolution.” My best guess is that Microsoft needs to take a step back and prepare for the upcoming release of the new Xbox. There will obviously be things to change in order to be compatible for the next generation of gaming, so taking some time off the adjust is not a bad thing. The company has urged players to get their last orders in by the 13th of October or else they will not get to use the service for the rest of the year at least. There has been no official statement from the company on how this time off will change the service, but hopefully the same quality and customer service will be present when the company comes back.
