For two companies that are always competing for the top console, it may seem strange that Xbox and PlayStation would compliment each other on their product. But believe it or not, that is exactly what happened.
One of the aspects of the PS5 many people were excited for is the introduction of the DualSense controller. It makes actions in-game feel even more realistic than ever before. To the surprise of me and I am sure many others, the boss of Xbox, Phil Spencer, had very kind words for the PlayStation company about the new controller.
“I applaud what they did with the controller, not actually for–well, I shouldn’t say not for the specifics of the controller, but more than just the specifics of the controller,” he said. “I think for all of us in the industry, we should learn from each other and the innovation that we all push on, whether it’s distribution of business model like Game Pass, or controller tech, or the Wii back in the day, which clearly had an impact on us when we went off and did Kinect and Sony did the Move.”
It is really nice to see that even though these companies are always competing with each other, there is still a sense of respect between them. At the end of the day, all any player wants is to have the best gaming technology possible, and seeing the two organizations take notes from each other is a great step in that direction.
